Welcome to my website, Potachi Museum!
‘Potachi’ is an abbreviation in Japanese for ‘potato chips’. Its pronunciation is ‘PO-TE-CHI’, three syllables with flat intonation.
In this site, my collection , various packages of potato chips produced by Calbee, is exhibited.
Calbee is the leading company of potato chips in Japan, and boasts an overwhelming market share of potato chips in Japan. It provides many snacks and other foods in Asia countries and US as well as Japan.
It has frequently released new types of potato chips with various flavors, more than 100 types a year.
Most of them are sold for a limited time only. Moreover, there are some products sold in a limited region or retailer only.
In this site, the number of stars represents the degree of rarity (the degree of difficulty in getting).
One-star-packages are very popular, so you will get easily anytime, everywhere.
Five-star-packages are very rare, so you would have difficulty even in finding the products.
You can get information about new products coming soon at the Calbee’s official site. But some of new products are not announced even in the official site.
Each picture in this site has explanation in blue and in black.
The blue sentence is the phrase written by Calbee printed on the package.
It refers to compactly the feature of the flavor and ingredients.
The black sentence is my comment.
If a new product appears, I post it at any time. Please keep checking ‘What’s New’ .
Please enjoy my collection.
